Love Vue, grateful for smarter people who support and contribute to it, but I'm seeing more "stuff" working its way in as time goes on. More is sometimes worse and it doesn't always make the thing more relevant. Although Vue technically cannot get as bad as React, which is reassuring, it does seem to be moving in that direction. Obscure magic like script setup does nothing for me. Imo there's rapidly diminishing returns from the new stuff and it's diluting the original investment.

Please don't feel pressured to cram in more stuff. I don't speak for the community, but I know a lot of folks ditched React for Vue because Vue's DX is was much cleaner. There was less thinking about the framework and more time for building the product. Less proprietary and more standards.

I'd love to have the same Vue experience but with no runtime like Svelte, so perhaps that could be something to look in to. Or at least get it down below 10kb like Riot (shrink the router too). Or the removal of special template syntax (v-on:click= and @click= vs. standard onclick= like Riot does) to further align with HTML, or ditch the Handlebars style {{ }} in favor of ${ } to align with template literals.
